THE SECOND BATTLE OF PANIPAT
The second battle of Panipat fought b/w Mughal emperor Akbar and Samrat Hem Chandra Vikramaditya popularly called Hemu, the Hindu king from North India of Delhi, on 5 November 1556. It was a decisive victory of Akbar's general Khan Zaman 1 and Bairam Khan.

Akbar and his guardian does not participated in this battle and 5ko(8miles) far away from the war zone. The 13 year old king was not permitted to be present on the battlefield in person ,,instead he was provided with the special guard of 5000 and well trained and most faithful troops and was stationed at a safe distance far behind the battle lines.
Hemu led army himself. His army has 1500 war elephants and a vanguard of artillery park. He marched in excellent order with 30000 practiced horsemen and composed of Rajputs and Afghans.
RESULT
Hemu commanding his force from atop of an elephant was on a winning track and was about Akbar army, when an arrow struck Hemu;s squinting eye.
The arrow passed his brain clean out the cup of his head and he became unconscious. Not seeing Hemu on his horse his army was in disarray and defeated in the ensuing confusion. Several hours after the war ended, dead Hemu was located and brought to Akbar camp by Shah Quli Khan Mahram.
